Bowmont Forest & Roxburgh

Cycling

A route taking you south of Kelso passing Bowmont Forest before turning west where you can stop at Teviot Water Garden & Smokery.

After this you cross Kalemouth suspension bridge and the route meanders along the River Teviot. A long gradual ascent and descent lead to Roxburgh. After the village you make your way towards Roxburgh Viaduct where you can push your bike over the footbridge which shares the viaduct piers. Remount and make your way to Heiton before returning to Kelso.

An alternative route shortening the distance to 15 miles, which also eliminates a bit of hill climbing can be found in the downloadable pdf.
