Visit a true Romanesque relic at Edrom Church, dating back to the 1100s. This low level route with little climbing explores the countryside east of Duns on quiet roads, with a possible detour to visit Manderston House.

Details
Starting on the Market Square in Duns the route turns right towards Wedderburn Castle at the edge of town. At the estate wall the route takes a left; you can get a glimpse of the castle further on. The Blackadder Water is crossed at the beautiful Mouth Bridge, and then recrossed at the similarly stunning Kelloe Bridge. Care is needed on a very short section of the A6105, just before turning right towards Edrom. Edrom Church is a small detour away, but can also be spotted from the road. On the way back Manderston House is a worthwhile detour.
