Set just off the tree-lined village green of Yetholm on the edge of the Cheviot Hills, the Pigeon Loft is not only a heavenly sanctuary for romance and relaxation but also a delightful base for walking and cycling in the captivating heather-clad hillsides of the National Park.
Dating back to the early 18th century, the cottage has been sensitively restored to respect the integrity of the original building, complemented by interior design that reflects the creative flair of its owner. The main accommodation occupies the first floor, an open plan arrangement incorporating the sitting room, kitchen and double bedroom, framed by the original brick hearth. The living area features a sumptuous sofa, rugs, pretty window seats and industrial style lighting, while the well-equipped galley kitchen is painted in the aptly named ‘Pigeon’ by Farrow & Ball. The king size cast-iron bed has a top-notch mattress, duck down bedding and vintage linen, all highly conducive to a great night’s sleep. On the same floor is an adjoining shower room with WC, basin and shower while downstairs the utility room is equipped with a washing machine, microwave and hanging space.
Storage for bikes, fishing kit and outdoor gear accommodated on request.
