This route takes you to the east of Hawick and past Wilton Park as you leave the town. Cross the Borthwick Water using a footbridge.

Beyond this the road climbs about 550feet in 3.5miles which offers some fine views looking south-west towards Teviotdale and to Craik Forest. The route drops towards Woodburn and follows the Borthwick Water back to Hawick and passing Roberton.
